Abstract
Agriculture plays a pivotal role in ensuring national food security and remains a backbone of Indonesia’s economy. However, the traditional distribution system of agricultural seeds, especially in the horticultural sector, continues to hinder efforts to enhance farmer efficiency and productivity. This study aims to develop an Android-based e-commerce application to facilitate the online ordering of rice seeds in a more efficient manner, using Pembibitan Berkah Tani in Temanggung as a case study. The application is built using a REST API to deliver real-time information on seed availability, pricing, and delivery services, while also supporting online ordering and payment features. Implementation results demonstrate that the application successfully reduces both the time and costs incurred by farmers in acquiring seeds, allowing them to focus more on core agricultural activities. It also aids seed providers in managing inventory more effectively. The adoption of this technology is expected to be scalable to other regions, supporting the sustainable development of Indonesia’s horticultural agriculture sector through the integration of digital solutions.
