Abstract

The development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) is one of Indonesia’s largest national strategic projects, affecting not only administrative governance but also social, economic, and environmental aspects. The relocation project from Jakarta to East Kalimantan has triggered diverse public reactions, particularly on social media platforms like Twitter, which serve as a space for discourse. This study aims to analyze public sentiment regarding the IKN project using A Lite BERT (ALBERT) as the sentiment classification model. A total of 1,179 tweets related to IKN were collected using tweet-harvest with keywords “IKN” and “ibukotanusantara.” The data underwent preprocessing stages including data cleaning, case folding, tokenization, padding, truncation, and labelling. The ALBERT model was trained and tested on the dataset, achieving an accuracy of 99.58% on training data and 91.53% on test data. Of the 236 test tweets, 156 were classified as neutral, 41 as positive, and 39 as negative. The sentiment results were visualized through a web-based application to illustrate the distribution and trends of public opinion. This research is expected to serve as a reference for stakeholders in understanding public perceptions related to the IKN development. Keywords: Sentiment Analysis, Nusantara Capital City, Twitter, ALBERT, Classification.
