Abstract

This research aims to identify consumer purchasing patterns at Balcos Compound by implementing a web-based analysis system utilizing the FP-Growth algorithm. Understanding these patterns is essential for optimizing marketing strategies, product bundling, and increasing sales. Balcos Compound previously faced challenges in efficiently analyzing transaction data, prompting the development of a web application using Python to automate and streamline the process. The dataset comprises 2,439 transaction records collected between May 1 and May 30, 2024. The FP-Growth algorithm was selected for its ability to efficiently discover frequent itemsets without the need to generate candidate sets, as required by the Apriori algorithm. The system allows for data input, pattern analysis, and result visualization through both textual reports and interactive graphs. The algorithm was executed with a minimum support threshold of 5% and a minimum confidence level of 80%. One of the significant association rules discovered is the relationship between Mineral Water 600ml and Lemon Tea, with a confidence of 100% and a lift value of 0.9752. The results demonstrate the system’s effectiveness in supporting data-driven business decision-making and providing deeper insights into consumer preferences at the coffee shop. Keywords: Purchasing Pattern, FP-Growth Algorithm, Marketing Strategy, Coffee Shop.
