Abstract
Indonesia, as a democratic nation, conducts elections to choose public representatives, where the process must be fair, honest, and adhere to the principles of direct, free, and confidential voting. E-voting is a digital-based election mechanism that can enhance the transparency and efficiency of such processes. This study focuses on the development of an Android-based e-voting application secured with AES-128 cryptographic encryption. The system manages data related to eligible student voters, votes cast during the election, and final vote tallying for the student council president (OSIS). The application’s frontend was developed using Kotlin within Android Studio, while the backend was implemented in JavaScript using the Node.js framework, with MySQL serving as the database. Research findings demonstrate that the e-voting application effectively secures critical electoral data through AES-128 encryption. The system not only enhances data security but also ensures that the entire voting process is more efficient, transparent, and reliable.
