Abstract
Efficient patient registration and queue management are essential components of modern healthcare services. However, conventional processes often face issues such as long waiting lines, extended delays, limited access to real-time queue information, and unanticipated doctor absences, all of which negatively affect patient satisfaction and hospital operations. This study focuses on the development of Healthyline, a web- and mobile-based application designed to streamline hospital registration through online booking, real-time queue updates, and automated doctor appointment reminders. Data were collected using qualitative methods, including literature reviews, interviews with hospital staff, and direct observations of existing registration and queue systems. The application was developed using the Waterfall model, which encompasses requirements analysis, system design, development, testing, and maintenance. Black-box testing was employed to ensure the application’s functionality and accuracy. Results indicate that all core features—patient registration, real-time queue tracking, and appointment reminders—functioned correctly. Backend operations, including data processing and notification delivery, were also validated successfully. The system offers a structured and user-friendly approach to improving operational efficiency, reducing patient wait times, and enhancing service satisfaction. This study contributes to health technology development by providing an innovative solution for hospital queue and registration management. Nevertheless, limitations remain, particularly the need for further performance evaluations during peak hours and considerations for patient data security. The system currently remains at the development and testing stage and has not yet been deployed in a live hospital environment.
