Abstract
This study aims to design a hybrid peer-to-peer (P2P) vehicle rental application system based on both web and Android platforms using the prototyping method. Addressing the growing demand for user-friendly, feature-rich, and reliable vehicle rental services, the research introduces a hybrid peer-to-peer model as an effective alternative for individuals seeking short-term transportation for travel, leisure, or business activities. The hybrid P2P architecture combines the decentralized nature of peer-to-peer systems with the structured coordination of client-server models. A central challenge in developing such systems lies in ensuring security and building trust between vehicle owners and renters. By adopting the prototyping method, developers are able to construct iterative prototypes that are tested and evaluated by users throughout the development cycle. This approach enables continuous refinement of system features, identification and resolution of potential issues, and the delivery of a more secure, reliable, and efficient hybrid P2P vehicle rental system tailored to user needs.
