Abstract

Indonesia, a tropical country situated in a geologically active region, faces a high risk of natural disasters. Historically, the country has experienced numerous catastrophic events resulting in significant loss of life and economic damage. In response, Indonesia has established official agencies and organizations dedicated to disaster management, both for natural and human-made events. Alongside these efforts, the role of technology has become increasingly vital in disseminating crucial information to the public. One such innovation is the Survival Kit—a compact collection of essential items designed for emergency use, serving as a form of disaster mitigation that can significantly reduce personal risk during emergencies. A Survival Kit not only aids individuals in managing emergency situations but also enhances preparedness. Disaster mitigation involves a series of actions and knowledge that must be undertaken during and after a disaster, typically led by authorized agencies or individuals familiar with emergency protocols. This study presents the development of an offline Android mobile application intended to educate and inform the public about the function and importance of survival kits and disaster mitigation strategies in the Indonesian context. The application aims to support awareness, readiness, and community resilience in facing disaster risks.
