Abstract

One of the rapidly evolving technologies in the multimedia field is Augmented Reality (AR). The use of AR as an educational medium for children offers a new perspective on current learning-teaching media by not only utilizing real objects but also integrating virtual objects in delivering information. AR is a technology that merges three-dimensional virtual objects into a real three-dimensional environment and displays them in real time. This study presents an overview and conceptual analysis based on a literature review regarding the development of information systems in healthcare, particularly the use of AR as an educational medium for junior high school students. The research is conducted through a literature review by collecting articles from academic databases such as Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and ProQuest. The application of AR in education has been shown to improve students’ knowledge. AR is expected to support students in school as a means of promoting health education. In Indonesia, the implementation of AR in educational settings, especially in the context of healthcare and nursing, remains limited. Therefore, further development and integration of AR media in health education is necessary. Keywords: Augmented Reality, Health Education, Mobile Learning-Teaching
