Abstract

Dietary patterns, including food and beverage consumption, play a vital role in maintaining health, meeting nutritional needs, and preventing or managing various medical conditions. However, the fast-paced modern lifestyle often leads people to neglect the importance of a healthy and balanced diet, thereby increasing the risk of obesity, malnutrition, and degenerative diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. The lack of public understanding regarding daily nutritional requirements, coupled with limited access to comprehensible nutrition education, remains a key contributing factor to this issue. On the other hand, the widespread use of Android devices presents an opportunity to offer an educational and practical digital solution. This study developed e-Diet, an Android-based platform that functions as a food intake tracker, provides dietary guidance based on balanced nutrition principles, and assists users in following personalized diet programs. The application is equipped with features such as reminders, meal portion analysis, and a dynamic database system using Firebase to ensure up-to-date nutritional information. It is expected that e-Diet will serve as an educational medium that promotes a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle within the community.
