Abstract

Traffic accidents are a common problem in densely populated cities like Yogyakarta. This is due to the increasing number of residents from outside the city, as Yogyakarta is both a student city and a tourist destination in Indonesia. The purpose of this Android-based emergency accident reporting application is to help the public, especially in Yogyakarta, access emergency services in the event of an accident. This allows victims to receive immediate first aid, thereby reducing the severity of their injuries. This application also offers several features, including emergency service telephone numbers and a search for emergency service locations. The emergency service agencies offered include the Police, Hospitals, and Fire Department. In developing this application, the author used an Android-based Location-Based Service (LoS) method. To display the location, it is hoped that this application will serve as an alternative to facilitate accident victims so that they can be promptly handled by authorities in Yogyakarta City and reduce the high number of accident deaths.
