Abstract

State Junior High School 2 Sidareja is a public junior high school recognized for its achievements at both the sub-district and district levels, making it a preferred choice among students in the Sidareja area. Despite its academic reputation, the school faces challenges in handling complaints regarding damaged facilities. Students often find it difficult to report issues, and verbal complaints to teachers are frequently overlooked, resulting in dissatisfaction among students. This research aims to design and develop an Android-based complaint system to facilitate a more direct, efficient, and structured way for students to report facility-related problems. The system is intended to enhance the effectiveness and transparency of the complaint-handling process. The development process follows the software engineering waterfall model, employing Java (native) for the Android application, PHP for the server side, and MySQL as the database. Key features of the application include complaint submission, photo uploads, and real-time complaint status tracking. The final output is a fully functional Android application that enables students to report facility damage online. Initial testing confirms that the application performs well according to user requirements. This system is expected to foster greater student engagement in maintaining school facilities and support the school administration in executing timely and accurate repairs.
