Abstract
The rapid growth of the hospitality industry has presented challenges for prospective hotel guests in selecting accommodations that align with their preferences. A content-based filtering (CBF) recommendation system offers an effective solution by utilizing features such as user reviews, pricing, amenities, and location to generate personalized suggestions. This study aims to design a hotel recommendation system by implementing the Naïve Bayes algorithm, which serves as a classifier to predict the compatibility between user preferences and hotel attributes. The dataset, sourced from online platforms like Traveloka, includes hotel information (price, facilities, location) labelled into categories (budget, mid-range, luxury) and undergoes preprocessing before classification. The model’s performance is evaluated using a confusion matrix, with the resulting classification model achieving an accuracy of 70%. This recommendation system is expected to enhance the user experience by simplifying the hotel selection process and helping users find accommodations that meet their specific needs.
