Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) continue to thrive across various sectors, including traditional retail shops. Typically, these small-scale businesses still rely on conventional in-store purchasing, which often results in long queues when customer traffic is high—driving potential buyers to seek alternatives. To address this issue, the development of an online shopping system is essential to support MSMEs in transitioning from traditional to digital retail models. This study focuses on the development of an e-commerce system for Mr. Parno Tobacco Shop, a traditional tobacco shop, using Android and web-based technologies to simplify customer transactions and enhance business promotion. The research methodology includes observation, interviews, and the application of the Rapid Application Development (RAD) model. The resulting application features a product catalogue, online ordering capabilities, and accessible business profile information, all available via mobile devices. Implementation outcomes indicate that the system effectively increases the shop’s visibility and sales potential in the digital marketplace. Additionally, the platform streamlines overall business management and operations. Thus, this Android and web-based e-commerce system offers an effective solution to accelerate digital transformation among MSMEs and foster a more competitive business ecosystem.
