Abstract

The derivational suffixes of slang are commonly used in linguistics. This research aims to identify and analyze the types and meanings of derivations of linguistic morphology on platforms X and TikTok. This study focuses on identifying and analyzing the derivative suffix based on a descriptive morphological approach, which involves reading the articles multiple times, selecting words with suffixing words, and applying note-taking techniques to organize the data. A descriptive qualitative method was employed to analyze the data, which consists of three stages: content analysis, qualitative-descriptive analysis, and quantitative analysis. The results of this study reveal that there are 30 instances of adverb, verb, nominal, and adjective suffix on X platforms. The analysis reveals that the grammatical category of the words containing adequacy suffix is mainly divided into four types: 4 instances of verb, 88 instances of adjectival, 79 instances of nominal, 62 instances of adjective, and 69 instances of noun suffix. The findings of this research will help students understand how language evolves in the digital era.
