Abstract
This study examines maxims cooperative that appear in the novel. (1) To discover and analyze the maxims of cooperative that are flouted in order to create humor in Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire movie, and (2) To discover and explain the sorts of humour stated by the characters through maxim flouting in the movie. This study utilizes the descriptive qualitative method which presents a detailed description of the maxims cooperatives that are flouted in Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire Movie. (1) It consists of maxim of quality, maxim of quantity, maxim of relation and maxim of manner. (2) Furthermore this study also aimed to discover the sort of humor which are Jokes, Spontaneous Conversational Humor and Unintentional Humor. This study of maxims is based on the concept appealed by Grice which are maxim of quality, maxim of quantity, maxim of manner and maxim of relation and the sort of humor by Rod A. Martin which are Jokes, Spontaneous Conversational Humor and Unintentional Humor.
