Abstract
This study aims to analyze the toxic masculinity found in x comments in 2025. Toxic masculinity refers to a social construct rooted in patriarchal culture that encourages men to exhibit dominance, aggression, and emotional suppression. These behaviors have harmful effects not only on men themselves but also on women and other vulnerable groups. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method and draws on Kupers’ (2005) theory of toxic masculinity, which categorizes its manifestations into four types: misogyny, greed, homophobia, and violent dominance. Data were collected through advanced keyword-based searches on the X platform, covering the period from January 1 to April 15, 2025. A total data of 83 comments containing elements of toxic masculinity were identified and analyzed linguistically. The findings reveal that misogyny is the most dominant form, appearing in 68 data, followed by greed (7), homophobia (5), and violent dominance (3). These results indicate that toxic masculine practices remain widespread in digital spaces, reinforcing discriminatory gender norms, particularly through language use on social media.
