Abstract
This study examines many sorts of metaphors included in the dialogue of the video games Elden Ring, directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. This study aims to identify the sorts of metaphors deployed and to identify the predominant types of metaphors in video games dialogue. This study presents the obtained data through a qualitative descriptive method utilizing Lakoff and Johnson's (2008) metaphor theory. The results of this investigation are as follows. The writer identified 58 sentences from the examined dialogues of Elden Ring video games. They are categorized into three sorts of metaphors: structural, ontological, and orientational metaphors. Furthermore, based on the second research question, the ontology metaphor type is the most frequently occurring metaphor in this video games dialogue. Among the 58 metaphors identified in the language of the Elden Ring video games, directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. The most dominant type is ontological metaphor with a total of 38 data. Followed by orientational metaphor as the second largest data with a total of 12 data. Furthermore, structural metaphor is the smallest data with total of 8 data.
