Abstract

Library management at SD Negeri Pakem Purworejo is still carried out manually, resulting in several challenges, including data entry errors, difficulties in locating book information, and complications in calculating fines for late returns. These issues result in low service efficiency for both students and teachers. Therefore, there is a need for a technological solution that can streamline administrative processes in a more practical and organized manner. This study aims to develop a web-based library information system that supports activities such as book lending, returns, inventory management, and report generation. The system is designed using PHP with the Laravel framework and utilizes MySQL as the database management system, ensuring that data is stored in a structured and secure manner. The development process follows the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, which includes the stages of analysis, design, implementation, and testing. Based on trial tests using the Black Box testing method, the system functions effectively and meets user needs. The implementation of this system has proven to accelerate data management, minimize errors, and facilitate easier access to book information. Consequently, this system is expected to enhance library service quality and foster a greater reading interest within the school community.
