Abstract
The study on women’s empowerment in Giriloyo Batik Village aims to identify the factors and impacts of women’s empowerment in this community located in Bantul. Women’s empowerment refers to the equitable distribution of power that encourages awareness and participation in various aspects of life. Empowering women equips them with the skills and strengths necessary to realise their full potential and enhance their presence in society. This research employs a qualitative methodology and utilizes techniques such as interviews, observations, and internet-based data collection. The interviews were conducted in a structured manner using a prepared interview guide, with a single observer employed to carry out the observation technique. The data analysis in this research is descriptive. The results indicate that women are empowered through tourism activities in Giriloyo Batik Village. Social, environmental, and economic factors contribute to the empowerment of women. The impacts experienced by women include the development of skills in business, production, and marketing.
