Abstract

ABSTRACT Personal financial management is a fundamental aspect of ensuring the community's economic well-being. However, according to financial literacy survey data released by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the public's understanding of financial planning and management remains suboptimal compared to their actual use of financial products. This issue is particularly evident among the younger generation, who tend to neglect recording cash flow and instead rely on memory, which is prone to inaccuracies. Consequently, many individuals struggle to monitor their financial status effectively and fail to achieve their planned savings goals. This study aims to design and develop a financial management application ecosystem that serves as a technological tool to enhance users' discipline in financial record-keeping. The system development method employed in this study is the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using the Waterfall model, ensuring a structured development process from analysis through testing. The application was developed in an integrated manner, encompassing the Android-based client-side in Kotlin with the Jetpack Compose framework and the web-based administrator side in React with TypeScript. The backend infrastructure was built using Node.js and Express with the TypeScript language, supported by a PostgreSQL database to ensure data security and integrity. Software testing was conducted using the Black-Box Testing method to validate the system's functionality against user needs. Based on the testing conducted, the system achieved a functional success rate of 94.4%. The results showed that this application successfully implemented intuitive transaction recording features, graphical visualization of financial reports, and the superior Money Goal feature, which automatically calculates the percentage of target achievement. The presence of this application is expected to be an effective digital solution for increasing financial literacy and inclusion among users by enabling more measurable, transparent fund management.
