Abstract

ABSTRACT In recent years, the tourism industry in Yogyakarta (Jogja) has experienced rapid growth. A notable trend is the growing interest among tourists, particularly the younger generation, in exploring the area’s trendy, unique cafes. Yogyakarta boasts a rich cultural heritage, vibrant arts scene, and significant historical landmarks, making it an attractive destination. Amid the rapid expansion of cafes and restaurants in the city, there is a growing need to help tourists select establishments that match their preferences. The primary goal of JOICE is to simplify finding trendy cafes in Yogyakarta. This application offers an advanced search feature that lets users filter cafes by location, theme, amenities, and user reviews. The research methodology employed is the Unified Modeling Language (UML), a visual language for documenting, designing, and communicating the structure and behavior of software systems. The results indicate that the JOICE application successfully achieved its objectives by enhancing the tourist experience in Yogyakarta, promoting cafe diversity, and contributing positively to the growth of the region’s tourism and creative industries. Keywords: Cafe, Android application, social media, Yogyakarta, Tourists
