Abstract

ABSTRACT St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Pangkalan Bun actively provides pastoral care to its congregation. However, many processes are still conducted conventionally, such as sacrament registration, disseminating activity information, and managing congregation data. This traditional approach reduces efficiency and limits the congregation’s active participation. To address these challenges, a web- and Android-based church service application was developed to support the digital transformation of church services. The Paulus Connect application was built using Flutter for the Android platform, which the congregation uses, and Laravel for the backend and admin panel, which church administrators use. The development process included needs analysis, system design, feature implementation, and testing. The application offers various features, including congregation registration and login, personal data entry, sacrament and community registration, church collection recording, a donation feature with an integrated payment gateway, automatic prayer reminders, and real-time notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for the latest church updates. Administrators can manage congregation data, open activity registrations, and make announcements directly through the system. The outcome of this research is a prototype of an integrated, efficient, and user-friendly church service application that facilitates two-way communication between the congregation and the church.
