Abstract

Ketersediaan fasilitas seni pertunjukan di Yogyakarta masih terbatas, sementara aktivitas kreatif semakin meningkat dan membutuhkan ruang yang terintegrasi. Ruang-ruang kreatif yang ada cenderung terpisah antara kegiatan produksi, edukasi, pameran, hingga pertunjukan, sehingga ekosistem seni tidak terbentuk secara menyeluruh. Selain itu, banyak fasilitas yang belum merepresentasikan identitas arsitektur lokal Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini merancang Yogyakarta Creative Hub sebagai pusat seni dan kolaborasi dengan pendekatan Arsitektur Neo Vernakular, yang mentransformasikan nilai tradisional menjadi bentuk dan ruang modern yang adaptif. Tapak berada di Jl. Babaran No.15, Pandeyan, Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta, seluas ±1,9 Ha, dengan konteks permukiman, komersial kecil, dan kedekatan dengan pusat kota. Metode perancangan meliputi analisis tapak, analisis pengguna, integrasi program, serta eksplorasi prinsip neo vernakular pada massa, fasad, dan struktur. Hasil perancangan menghadirkan ruang seni yang terhubung dalam satu ekosistem, meliputi creative plaza, amphitheater, ruang pamer publik, studio modular, workshop, serta zona produksi terbuka yang memungkinkan interaksi langsung antara seniman dan pengunjung. Penerapan sumbu filosofi Yogyakarta mengarahkan pola zonasi, sementara elemen atap tinggi, ruang minim sekat, dan material lokal mendukung kenyamanan termal serta karakter kawasan. Desain ini menghasilkan fasilitas seni pertunjukan yang inklusif, adaptif, dan kontekstual, sekaligus menjadi wadah kolaboratif bagi berbagai komunitas kreatif di Yogyakarta The availability of performing arts facilities in Yogyakarta remains limited, even as creative activities continue to grow and demand integrated spaces. Existing creative spaces tend to be fragmented, separating production, education, exhibitions, and performances, which prevents the formation of a comprehensive arts ecosystem. Furthermore, many facilities fail to reflect Yogyakarta’s local architectural identity. This study proposes the design of the Yogyakarta Creative Hub, an arts and collaboration center employing a Neo-Vernacular Architecture approach that transforms traditional values into adaptive modern forms and spaces. The site is located at Jl. Babaran No. 15, Pandeyan, Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta, covering approximately 1.9 hectares, situated within a residential and small commercial context near the city center. The design methodology includes site analysis, user analysis, program integration, and exploration of neo-vernacular principles in massing, façade, and structure. The design outcome presents an interconnected arts space that forms a unified ecosystem, featuring a creative plaza, amphitheatre, public exhibition space, modular studios, workshops, and an open production zone that facilitates direct interaction between artists and visitors. The application of the Yogyakarta philosophical axis informs the zoning pattern, while high roof elements, minimal partitions, and the use of local materials enhance thermal comfort and reinforce the area’s character. This design creates an inclusive, adaptive, and contextually relevant performing arts facility that also serves as a collaborative platform for Yogyakarta’s diverse creative communities.
