Abstract

Provinsi Jambi memiliki kebutuhan mendesak untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan kejuruan akibat rendahnya kualitas sumber daya manusia dan keterbatasan fasilitas SMK yang belum mampu menampung seluruh peserta didik, termasuk siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Kondisi ini menjadi dasar perancangan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Inklusif di Kota Jambi sebagai fasilitas pembelajaran dan pelatihan yang dapat diakses oleh semua siswa melalui pendekatan Universal Design. Perancangan ini bertujuan menghadirkan fasilitas pendidikan yang komprehensif dengan pendekatan Universal Design sehingga mampu mewujudkan lingkungan belajar yang setara, aman, dan nyaman. Metode perancangan meliputi pengumpulan data primer dan sekunder, observasi tapak, studi standar SMK, serta analisis kebutuhan siswa normal dan berkebutuhan khusus untuk menyusun konsep ruang dan gubahan massa yang aman dan setara. Hasil perancangan menghasilkan konsep SMK inklusif bertingkat yang mengintegrasikan ruang belajar, ruang praktik, ruang layanan khusus, serta sistem sirkulasi yang ramah pengguna, sehingga meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran dan kualitas lingkungan sekolah. Rancangan ini diharapkan dapat memperluas daya tampung pendidikan kejuruan, memperkuat penyelenggaraan pendidikan inklusif, dan berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia di Kota Jambi. Jambi Province urgently needs to improve the quality of vocational education due to the low quality of human resources and the limited facilities of vocational high schools (SMKs), which are unable to accommodate all students, including those with special needs. This situation has prompted the design of an inclusive vocational high school in Jambi City, serving as a learning and training facility accessible to all students through the application of Universal Design principles. The design aims to provide comprehensive educational facilities that create an equitable, safe, and comfortable learning environment. The design process involved collecting primary and secondary data, conducting site observations, studying vocational high school standards, and analyzing the needs of both regular and special needs students to develop a safe and equitable spatial and massing concept. The resulting design features a multi-level inclusive vocational high school that integrates learning spaces, practical training areas, specialized service spaces, and a user-friendly circulation system, thereby enhancing learning effectiveness and the overall quality of the school environment. This design is expected to expand vocational education capacity, strengthen inclusive education implementation, and improve the quality of human resources in Jambi City.
