Abstract

Kota Magelang terletak di pusat Kabupaten Magelang dan berperan sebagai pusat dari kawasan Purwomangun (Purworejo, Wonosobo, Magelang, dan Temanggung). Dengan pertumbuhan ekonomi yang pesat, Kota Magelang telah menjadi pusat perdagangan, pendidikan, dan jasa bagi daerah-daerah sekitarnya. Selain itu, letaknya yang dekat dengan berbagai wisata alam di Kabupaten Magelang menjadikan kota ini semakin berkembang. Saat ini, Magelang memiliki sejumlah hotel yang berfungsi sebagai akomodasi sementara bagi wisatawan yang berkunjung atau baru saja menikmati destinasi wisata. Perkembangan pariwisata yang pesat di Magelang, terutama dengan adanya daya tarik seperti Candi Borobudur, Candi Mendut, serta wisata alam lainnya, menimbulkan kebutuhan untuk memperkuat infrastruktur pariwisata, termasuk hotel. Hotel menjadi salah satu fasilitas utama yang dibutuhkan untuk mendukung perkembangan pariwisata ini. Dalam mendesain hotel berbintang empat, diperlukan pendekatan kontemporer yang menekankan pada gaya arsitektur yang fleksibel, inovatif, dan beradaptasi dengan kebutuhan pasar yang terus berubah. Salah satu tantangan utama yang dihadapi dalam pendekatan ini adalah memenuhi selera pasar modern yang terus berkembang, seperti kebutuhan akan desain yang estetis, fungsional, dan berkelanjutan. Selain itu, integrasi teknologi canggih dan fleksibilitas ruang untuk memenuhi berbagai kebutuhan pengunjung menjadi perhatian utama dalam desain arsitektur kontemporer. Magelang City is situated at the center of Magelang Regency and serves as the hub for the Purworejo, Wonosobo, Magelang, and Temanggung regions. With rapid economic growth, Magelang City has become a center for trade, education, and services for the surrounding areas. Additionally, its proximity to various natural attractions within Magelang Regency has contributed to the city’s ongoing development. Currently, Magelang offers several hotels that provide temporary accommodations for tourists visiting or enjoying local attractions. The rapid growth of tourism in Magelang, especially with sites such as Borobudur Temple, Mendut Temple, and other natural landmarks, has created a pressing need to strengthen tourism infrastructure, including hotel facilities. Hotels are essential to supporting this tourism expansion. Designing a four-star hotel requires a contemporary approach that emphasizes a flexible, innovative architectural style capable of adapting to evolving market demands. One of the primary challenges in this approach is addressing the changing preferences of the modern market, which include aesthetic appeal, functionality, and sustainability. Moreover, integrating advanced technology and spatial flexibility to accommodate diverse visitor needs is a critical consideration in contemporary architectural design.
