Khoiriyah, Himatul. 2018. The Achievement of English Education Department Students in Pronouncing English Song Using Smule Application at University of Technology Yogyakarta. Thesis. English Education Department, Faculty of Education, University of Technology Yogyakarta. Advisor: Juhansar, MA. ABSTRACT This research objectives are to describe the students’ achievement in pronouncing English song and to find out the factors influencing the students’ achievement in pronouncing English song using smule application. The type of this research was descriptive statistic in which the data were collected through English pronunciation test and questionnaire. The English pronunciation test was used to collect the data related to the students’ English pronunciation achievement; and the questionnaire was used to find out the factors influencing students’ English pronunciation achievement. The questionnaire consists of 20 questions. The result of the research shows the mean score of students’ achievement in pronouncing English song using smule application is 3.81 or almost good in which students’ achievement is influenced by (1) the low frequency in practicing pronunciation; (2) the difficulty to balance singing karaoke and music instruments on fast song tempo; and (3) the lack of using smule application to sing karaoke.
