Abstract
This study concerns about idiomatic found and the equivalence translation in Me Before You novel. The study discusses two problems. The first problem is to identify kinds and describe the English idioms found in the novel Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. The second is to understand the equivalence translation used in the English novel and their translation into Bahasa Indonesia. The qualitative method is used in this research. The data are gathered from reference books related to the theory of idiom and the translation. To analyze the kinds of idioms, Hocket’s theory was used. Then to analyze the equivalence of translation, A Nida and Taber’s theory was used. The object of this research is the novel Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. The data of this research are in the form of words, phrase and clauses. The results of this research show, first the kinds of English idiom found in the novel Me Before You by Jojo Moyes are English Phrasal Compound (hyphen form, closed form and open form), Figure of Speech (personification, metaphor, simile, and hyperbole) and Slang. Second, there are two kinds of translation used, equivalence translation and dynamic equivalence. Key words: Me BeforeYou, Idiom, Type, Equivalence Translation, Novel
