Abstract

ABSTRACT The cattle grazing system besides the risk of death is also the risk of losing cattle without using a rope, usually because the cow is lost from the herd or the theft of cattle. Therefore it is necessary to make a tracker of livestock in order to monitor the location of the existence of the cow, one of which is by using a tracking device, GPS. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a tool that will help to find out the current position. GPS works by transmitting signals from satellites to devices equipped with GPS. Based on the discussion and the results of the system testing carried out, the automatic detection system for cattle location by the shepherd method can track the whereabouts of the cow so that it replaces the role of the rope which can risk being wrapped around the cow's body. This study produced a design for a cow position detection system with a loose grazing method that can monitor cattle livestock directly through a smartphone.
