Abstract

ABSTRACT The microhydro power plant is a power plant with a water source as a generator. The use of micro hydro is not as popular as hydropower, so the utilization is not maximized. The use of micro-hydro independently can accelerate the development of underdeveloped regions because by utilizing micro-hydro it will create a community with independent power plants. On the other hand Indonesia as a country with the largest Muslim population in the world always needs large amounts of water. One of the most frequently carried out activities of Muslims is ablution, but the wasteful use of water while performing ablution is an obstacle in various places of ablution, therefore innovation is carried out to reduce waste of water. Control of water use is to create a system that can make the faucet drain water only when used for ablution, and will stop when not used. On the other hand, tendon tubs and ablution faucets at the bottom can also be used to make a mini-scale electric generator, micro mini hydro. However, there are problems in the research, namely how to design a power plant system, how the influence of the water discharge from the tendon can affect the power produced by the power plant. The system works in an outline that is when the tap water is open due to movement, then the windings will rotate a mini generator then increase the voltage using a step up module which is then used to charge a 10V AA battery, the battery will be used to turn on the lights and supply voltage to Arduino -each 3V and 7V in case of turning on the battery light requires a mini inverter circuit that is joultihef, then to supply to Arduino the voltage passes through the module kit step down so that the voltage becomes 5V. From several trials the highest voltage alternator obtained is only 7.23V, and the voltage will decrease when connected to the load. Charging the battery for 1 minute only contains a voltage of 0.01V, the efficiency to turn on the lights can reach half an hour and then gradually dim.
