Abstract

Battery is one device that can be used to store electrical energy. Battery is a device that can convert chemical potential into electrical potential and vice versa through electrochemical processes. Electrical energy is also an energy that is very important for human life in carrying out daily activities. alternative energy sources that are easy and cheap and useful for humans that can be obtained from the use of used goods that cannot be used again (recycling), one of which is battery stone. This research is a trial to make battery stones as an alternative to electrical energy. By utilizing Lapindo mud waste which decomposes with the substitution method. The substitution method is a method in which the total weight of the entire contents of the battery is included in the percentage of material added. It can be seen that Lapindo mud can be a substitute for electrolytes in a battery. So that Lapindo mud can be utilized as alternative energy. The best composition of the mixture of batteries as an alternative energy source that produces the greatest electrical power is composition E, which is 10% ammonium chloride, 90% lapindo mud, 10 ml sulfuric acid, 10 ml sea water. Which produces 1.93 V and 0.64 A current so it can produce 1.2352 W. Keywords: Lapindo Mud, Batteries, Alternative Energy.
