Abstract

Learning media for early childhood is a tool that is used as teaching material or often referred to as a curriculum for early childhood. Learning media that are widely used today are only textbooks that have several weaknesses so that some information is no longer in line with what is faced by students so that it has difficulty with the material presented because it requires sufficient imagination of animal characteristics conveyed by the instructor. By utilizing Augmented Reality technology, technology that combines two-dimensional and three-dimensional virtual objects into the real environment around us and then made an android application that is used to introduce animals based on the type of food. This will facilitate the process of delivering material and will be more maximal. The application is made using Unity 3D software with the Vuforia SDK library and for making 3D objects using blender software. This application uses markers as target images that are used as references to display 3D animal objects. In this study it can be concluded that the application that has been developed by the author succeeded in being used as a learning media that can facilitate early childhood in recognizing several types of animals, adding ways of thinking and imagination and can be used as interactive media learning solutions for animal recognition by children.
