Abstract

Feeding that is in accordance with the nutritional needs of laying hens is one thing that must be considered. Feed that is ready to be given to livestock once or several times for 24 hours is prepared from various types of feed ingredients that have been calculated (calculated) beforehand based on the nutritional needs and energy needed. This is because the feed given will affect the amount and quality of eggs produced. In addition, feed also affects the success of a laying chicken farm, where the cost of feed released by farmers is quite large. So, the farmer must be able to make the composition of feed at a minimum cost but the nutritional needs of the chicken are fulfilled. To obtain the composition of the feed, the study was conducted using the Pearson Square (PS) algorithm. PS is one of the optimization algorithms that can solve the problem of determining the composition of feed to meet the nutritional needs of laying hens, so as to maximize the income of farmers. The final results obtained in the form of the best feed ingredients composition with chicken nutritional needs are met with minimum costs. Pearson Square (PS) algorithm is needed to calculate the nutritional composition of each type of feed material used for laying hens so that they do not experience shortages or excess nutrients. In addition, using the Pearson Square (PS) algorithm can also influence the results of optimal chicken breeding. Good feed nutritional results can increase the production of laying hens so that the sale of laying hens and eggs can increase the inclusion of farmers as a business process that runs on AFR Farm, Kulon Progo.
