Abstract
The implementation of the specialization process of students who are still using manual methods causes data processing to be carried out optimally. This encourages the need to develop computer-based systems to facilitate the specialization process. The purpose of this study is to apply the profile matching method as an alternative program to determine student interest groups. The main problem that arises is the absence of standard criteria that are used as aspects to select students according to the abilities possessed by each student. The profile matching method is used by analyzing academic and non-academic aspects of assessment. Aspects of academic value include the value of report cards and national exam scores while data on student non-academic values are the value of general competencies which include tests of academic potential, read-write al-quran and intelligence quotient. The specialization recommendations include specialization groups in Natural Sciences and specialization groups in Social Sciences. Furthermore, the assessment aspects are adjusted to the special competency gap value based on the core factor and secondary factor categories. The application design uses java programming language and mysql database. The results of the study in the form of app suitability use a percentage that can indicate the recommendation of student interest Islamic Senoir High School Wahid Hasyim Yogyakarta. Keywords: Specialization, Recommendation, Profile Matching, Student.
