Abstract

The use of cellphones is dominated by smartphones. They are smart mobile devices equipped with excellent features such as bezel-less screen or borderless screen, fast charging, dual cameras, fingerprint sensor systems, and more innovative designs with the touchscreen feature. Apart from features, the smartphone also has specifications such as random access memory, random only memory, external memory, central processing unit, screen resolution, screen size, and operating system. Many models and types are offered with various brands such as Samsung, OPPO, Xiaomi, Vivo, Lenovo, Nokia and so on. Of the many brands and specifications in circulation, users have a lot of smartphone choices to buy. Therefore, the research carried out aims to create a system which can help the selection of smartphones that suit customer needs by minimizing costs by using the SMART method (Simple Multi Attribute Reating Tecnoque). There are several criteria to consider in choosing a smartphone including random access memory capacity, random only memory capacity, external memory capacity, the speed of the central processing unit, the number of core central processing units, screen resolution, screen size, battery capacity, camera size, system operation, fingerprint sensors, and prices. The softwares used are PHP (Pear Hypertext Prepocessor) as a programming language, MySQL as a database server, and Sublime Text as a writing editor. The results of the research is in the form of a web-based smartphone selection system which can provide choices to users as a material consideration for smartphone purchases.
