Abstract
In identifying underprivileged students in SD Negeri Somokaton 1 it is still done manually by collecting student data and parents' data. With so many students going to school it will be difficult for the school to identify underprivileged students quickly and on target so as to produce less accurate data. Building an election system for prospective Indonesian smart program recipients using the back propagation algorithm is needed to solve existing problems at SD Negeri Somokaton 1. This system is very helpful for the school in the process of correctly identifying and identifying underprivileged students for recommendations from recipients of the Smart Indonesia Program PIP) by implementing artificial neural networks using the backpropagation algorithm.
