Abstract

ABSTRAK Peningkatan limbah industri PLTU berupa fly ash dari tahun ke tahun semakin bertambah sehingga perlu adanya penelitian untuk menemukan solusi permasalahan limbah PLTU supaya menjadi bahan yang bermanfaat. fly ash mengandung SiO2, Al2O3, CaO, dan Fe2O3 namun kandungan SiO2 cukup tinggi mencapai ±70 %. Dengan kandungan silika yang cukup tinggi ini memungkinkan abu batubara memenuhi kriteria sebagai bahan yang memiliki sifat semen/pozzolan sehingga dapat digunakan untuk mengurangi jumlah semen sebagai material penyusun beton contohnya dalam industri pembuatan paving block. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggantian sebagian kebutuhan agregat dengan fly ash dan batu pecah terhadap kualitas dan harga paving block beton. Variasi penambahan batu pecah sebesar 20% dan 30% dari kebutuhan agregat, batu pecah yang digunakan berukuran 10 – 20 mm. Sementara jumlah fly ash 0%, 5%, 10%, dan 15% sebagai pengganti sebagian kebutuhan agregat halus. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan 2 metode pembuatan yaitu dengan cara manual dan press. Mix desain pembuatan paving block menggunakan perbandingan volume 1 semen : 8 agregat. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kuat tekan optimal paving block beton manual (PBB manual) didapat pada paving block beton manual (PBB manual) batu pecah 20% dengan kadar fly ash 10% yaitu 21,69 MPa (mutu B). Sedangkan kuat tekan optimal paving block beton press (PBB press) didapat pada paving block beton press (PBB press) batu pecah 20% dengan kadar fly ash 15% yaitu 21,64 MPa (mutu B). Biaya produksi paving block beton dengan kuat tekan tetinggi yaitu 21,69 MPa terdapat pada paving block beton batu pecah 20% kadar fly ash 10% dengan harga produksi Rp. 972, 00. Kata Kunci: Batu Pecah, Fly Ash, Kuat Tekan, Paving Block Beton ABSTRACT Increasing industrial waste from PLTU in the form of fly ash from year to year is increasing, so there is a need for research to find solutions to PLTU waste problems to become useful materials. Fly ash contains SiO2, Al2O3, CaO, and Fe2O3 but SiO2 content is quite high at ± 70%. With this high silica content, it allows coal ash to meet the criteria as a material that has the properties of cement / pozzolan so that it can be used to reduce the amount of cement as a concrete building material for example in the paving block manufacturing industry. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of replacing some of the aggregate needs with fly ash and split stones on the quality and price of concrete paving block. The variation of the addition of split stones is 20% and 30% of the aggregate requirement, the split stone used has a size of 10-20 mm. Meanwhile the number of fly ash is 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15% as a substitute for some fine aggregate requirements. In this research, 2 methods of manufacture are used, namely by manual and press. Mix design of paving blocks production using a ratio of volume 1 cement: 8 aggregate. The research results showed that the optimal compressive strength of manual concrete paving blocks (PBB manual) was obtained on manual concrete paving blocks (PBB manual) 20% split stone with 10% fly ash content, namely 21.69 MPa (quality B). Whereas the optimal compressive strength of press concrete paving blocks (PBB press) was obtained on press concrete paving blocks (PBB press) 20% split stones with 15% fly ash content which was 21.64 MPa (quality B). The production cost of concrete paving blocks with the highest compressive strength of 21.69 MPa is found in concrete paving blocks of 20% split stone 10% fly ash content with a production price of Rp. 972, 00.
