Abstract
In Indonesia corn is the second most important food ingredient after rice. Aside from being a staple food, corn is used for various processed products including: vegetables, flour, ethanol, cooking oil, sugar, animal feed, and industrial raw materials. Corn-producing areas are scattered throughout the territory of Indonesia, one of which produces corn is Salatiga, Central Java. Corn production in Salatiga is found in 4 sub-districts with results that are still relatively low. To increase corn production can be done by improving cultivation techniques using the type of corn. According to data from the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, there are many types of maize including 34 types of free glow corn and 100 types of hybrid maize, but there are still many types that are not good at increasing production. The choice of corn is a problem because of the many criteria that need to be considered. These problems can be solved by the existence of a decision support system. In this study the system was made using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. This system is capable of producing accurate and fast decisions. The results of the system are in the form of ranking the best types of corn to the lowest according to the criteria given. This method was chosen because it can produce more accurate and objective decisions. The results of the system are in the form of rankings of the types of corn seeds starting from the best to the lowest.
