Abstract
ABSTRAK Secara tradisional sebagian besar penduduk di Kabupaten Sumba Barat bergantung hidup pada sub sector peternakan. Hal ini tidak bisa terlepas dari budaya masyarakat Sumba Barat yang masih menggunakan hewan sebagai simbol status sosial, mahar pernikahan, persembahan dan konsumsi dalam penyelenggaraan pesta-pesta adat dan prosesi pemakaman. Ternak yang dipeliharapun tidak jauh dari jenis hewan yang diperlukan untuk urusan adat. Diantaranya seperti kuda, kerbau, sapi, kambing, babi serta unggas. Melihat hal tersebut pemerintah Kabupaten Sumba Barat ingin memaksimalkan potensi ekonomi dari sub sector peternakan. Namun banyak masyarakat yang masih beternak secara traisional dengan pola lepas padang dan pemotongan ternak secara tradisional. Sehingga pemerintah Kabupaten Sumba Barat dalam RPJMD 2016-2021 ingin mengubah pola peternakan tradisional tersebut ke pola semi modern. Merespon dari permasalahan yang ada, dibutuhkan fasilitas yang mampu menjadi tempat pembelajaran pola beternak semi modern. Perancangan menggunakan tiga metode pengumpulan data yaitu literature, observasi lapangan, dan wawancara. Serta tiga metode analisis data yaitu analisis site, konsep desain,dan programing. Fungsi utama Fasilitas Edukasi Peternakan untuk memberikan edukasi pola beternak semi modern. Fasilitas utama yaitu ruang penyuluhan, peternakan semi modern, rumah potong hewan dan instalasi pengolahan limbah. Fasilitas tambahan yaitu resto/footcourt, penyewaan kuda tunggangan, meat shop dan area bersantai. Pendekatan Arsitektur Kontekstual dipilih sebagai respon untuk menjaga dan meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan. Implementasi Arsitektur Kontekstual menerapkan dua aspek: aspek fisik untuk desain bangunan selaras dengan lingkungan dan aspek non fisik untuk fungsi, filosofi maupun teknologi yang diterapkan. Kata kunci: arsitektur kontekstual, fasilitas edukasi, peternakan, rumah pemotongan hewan ABSTRACT Traditionally, most of West Sumba Regency resident depend on livestock sub sector. It is related to the culture of West Sumba people that use animal as the symbol of social status, wedding dowry, offerings and consumption on traditional celebration or funeral. The livestock raised is also those that can be used for customary affairs like horse, buffalo, cow, goat, pig, and fowl. Related to that reason, the government of West Sumba Regency wants to maximize the economy potency of this sector. However, most of the Sumba people still use traditional approach on raising livestock by releasing them in meadow or on cutting cattle process. The government then released regional regulation (RPJMD) for 2016-2021 in order to help their people to change that traditional approach to semi modern one. To respond the matter, it is needed a facility that is able to be the place for semi modern livestock education. The design used three methods on data collection, namely literature study, field observation, and interview. The data then analyzed through site analysis, design concept, and programming. The main function of this facility is to give a semi modern livestock education. The main facility of this space is as conference room, semi modern farm, cutting cattle house, and waste installation. There are also some addition facilities like food court, horse riding rental, meat shop, and resting area. Contextual architecture was chosen as the respond to maintain and to improve environment quality. The implementation of contextual architecture emphasized two aspects: physical aspect for building design that is in harmony with environment and non-physical aspect for philosophical function and applied technology.
