Abstract

ABSTRAK Renewable energy is expected to be an alternative to overcome the problem of high electricity needs and can replace the use of fossil energy to produce electricity. The use of wind energy is one example of the use of renewable energy. The problem that often arises from the use of renewable energy is that the investment costs incurred to build a plant with renewable energy are not proportional to the amount of energy produced. One reason is the efficiency of generators that are not optimal for the use of renewable energy. Therefore it is necessary to develop generators that can optimize renewable energy. From these problems the author conducted a study of the design of generators with variations of slots and poles which aims to find effective output based on voltage and power using MagNet software. The slot variables tested are 8, 10, 12, 16, 18 and the pole variables tested are 4, 8, 12,16, 18. The simulation results are then analyzed by the following scenario, which is processing output voltage and power data, then looking at the characteristic pattern graph of output voltage and power. The generator design with the number of slots and poles which produces the highest output power is 18 slots 18 pole with a power of 54.13244 Kw and the generator design with the number of slots and poles which produces the highest output voltage is 18 slots 16 pole with a power of 120.2737999 Volt. The analysis is then carried out by looking at the graph of the average output voltage and the average output power. In the graph of the ratio of the number of slots to poles with the same initial parameters and rotational speed, the number of slots and poles at dispute 2 will give the greatest voltage. At the output power, the same number of slots and poles will give the greatest power output. While the lowest average voltage is obtained from the maximum number of slots with the least number of poles and the lowest average power is obtained from the highest number of poles with a small number of slots.
