Abstract

ABSTRACT Distribution transformers have an important role in the distribution of electrical power in a distribution system. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 354 of 1972 stated that when the transformer is charged stable at its rated power with ambient temperature 200C, the transformer hot spot temperature will reach 980C and the life of the transformer will reach 20 years or 7300 days with a normal lifespan of 0, 0137% per day. The ambient temperature in the Special Region of Yogyakarta is an average of 300C, so the transformer must be adjusted so that the age shrinkage remains normal. Estimates of transformer age shrinkage are Montsinger formula which is used to obtain relative velocities at each hot spot above normal temperature (980C) at nominal load and reference environment temperature and increase in coil temperature. Age loss before reconfiguration is 96.7% with the remaining 10 years for Semanu 1 transfotmator, and 0.92% with a large remaining life of 1,200 years for Semanu 2 transfotmator. While in Godean 1 Transformer, there is a shrinkage of 0.12% with remaining life. 9221 and transformer 2 experienced a shrinkage of 17.69% with the remaining age of 57 years. After reconfiguration, the transformer age of Semanu 1 is reduced by 12.59% with the remaining 79 years, and for Semanu 2 transformers, which is 14.48%, the remaining 69 years, Godean 1 is 0.77%, the remaining age is 1438 and Godean 2 is 0, 71% with the remaining age of 1554.
