Abstract

ABSTRACT The increasing number of electricity consumption needs in Indonesia has resulted in a reduction in electricity resources in Indonesia. Indonesia itself is a country that has abundant energy sources and has the potential to use as an electricity supplier for various renewable energies, but ironically Indonesia's electricity conditions are not in accordance with abundant energy sources so there are still some areas that have not been electrified. Permanent Magnet Generator is one of the main components in the Wind Turbine system or the Bayu Power Plant. The design of the permanent magnet generator itself can be done using the MagNet Infolytica Software to find out the characteristics of the generator that we have made. In this study the design of PMG-12 8 pole slots and 15 10 pole slots was designed. This test was carried out with the following scenarios, namely testing without load with constant speed, without load testing with variations in Rotation per Minute (Rpm), and testing variations in loads with variations of Rpm. In this simulation data collection on the generator is carried out every 3 ° per second. The results during the test are then analyzed by processing the data and looking at the graph of the voltage, input power, and output power at the generator. The generator with no-load simulation without variations of Rpm produces Vdc voltage of 149.5 V for PMG-12S8P, while at PMG-15S10P is 171.8 V, while the variation of Rpm produces an average voltage of Vdc of 119.6 V at PMG-12S8P, and 172 V at PMG-15S10P. The average input power and output power generated during the testing of load variations and Rpm variations are 641 W (Pin) and 553 W (Pout) at PMG-12S8P and 1110 W (Pin), 926.1 W (Pout) at PMG-15S10P. The generator has efficiency when it reaches maximum power of 82.8% at PMG-12S8P while PMG-15S10P is 81%, with power losses of 17.2% at PMG-12S8P and 18.6% at PMG-15S10P. Keywords : Renewable Energy, Wind Turbine, MagNet Ifolytica, Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG), Rotation per Minute (Rpm)
