Abstract

ABSTRACT In the midst of the growing issue of limited natural resources, technological and industrial developments and rapid population growth, the need for electricity continues to increase. This study aims to design an electrical energy generator using flywheel energy (Flywheel). The DC motor is used as the initial drive connected to the flywheel. The moment of inertia and kinetic energy stored at the flywheel (Flywheel) is used to drive the alternator where the alternator's rotational speed can be maintained using a flywheel. The results of the study show that the style wheel can store rotational energy so that the flywheel can maintain rotation and can rotate the alternator. The current needed is a very large DC motor that is equal to 12 A while the current given by the alternator is very small, which is equal to 2 A, so the over unity system will stop immediately, because the alternator is unable to supply energy for batteries and DC motors. While the energy from the battery will be absorbed continuously by the DC motor, then the rotating speed of the system will continue to fall because of running out of energy.
