Abstract

ABSTRACT Lately there have been fires caused by several factors, such as human negligence and short-circuiting that cannot be predicted when it comes, what causes it, what is the extent of coverage and how much impact it causes, so the author designed a fire detection and automatic Arduino Uno based extinguishing device. This tool is used to detect fires early and take immediate fire suppression to prevent the spread of fires that occur at one point. This tool consists of a MQ-2 smoke sensor as a smoke detector and a fire sensor as a fire detector and sends a voltage concentration to Arduino. The programmed Arduino will process the detected data and if the voltage concentration exceeds the limit, the Arduino will activate the relay to activate the alarm and water pump so that water will flow into the room. The water will continue to flow until the detected fire and smoke decreases and the water will automatically stop when the fire and smoke are gone. From the test results prove that the sensor as a detector of smoke and fire works well in activating the early detection and extinguishing system because it is able to activate Arduino which sends a voltage to the relay that controls the sound of the alarm and water pump.
