Abstract

ABSTRACT Heart rate and body temperature are fundamental vital sign parameters for paramedics in determining the physical condition of patients in the hospital ICU (Intensive Care Unit) treatment room. Examination of the patient's heart rate and body temperature carried out by nurses or doctors in the hospital's ICU generally uses an electrocardiogram (ECG) and thermometer. This tool is very helpful in monitoring the patient's condition suffered. However, the device is still placed near the patient and has not been integrated into the nurse's room. Making a prototype monitoring system heart rate and body temperature is an interesting thing used for research. The purpose of this study was to make a prototype of the patient's heart rate and body temperature monitoring device in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) hospital that is integrated with the nurse's care room in real time. From the results of testing the sensor pulse (heartbeat) using 5 respondents the average error of the heart rate calculation is 4.15% with the highest error value of 5.49% and the lowest error value of 3.49%. While the results of testing the DS18B20 temperature sensor using 5 respondents, the average error of the temperature calculation using the DS18B20 temperature sensor as much as 2.16% with the highest error of 5.56% and the lowest error of 0.00%.
