Abstract
ABSTRACT With the growing of the modern era, human needs can be easily met, ranging from transportation, communication to household appliances. Various refrigeration equipment is often used by the community. One of its functions is as a food and beverage storage media to make it more durable and fresh. Most cooling machines use freon chemicals as coolants. These chemicals can cause adverse effects on the environment which damage the ozone layer. Therefore, in an effort to reduce the uncontrolled use of freon, an environmentally friendly cool box prototype is required by using thermoelectric (peltier) as a tool that cools and is free of chemicals such as freon. This study used the peltier TEC1-12706 thermoelectric module, DHT-11 temperature sensor module, nodemcu microcontroller as wifi, firebase database as data storage in real time, and relay as an automatic switch. The design of the cool box is done by placing the temperature sensor as an important component in the design of the cool box. The temperature produced by peltier can be controlled by a microcontroller that has been programmed, the temperature limit is set using a relay, then the temperature sent to the firebase database is then displayed on the smartphone application and the users can control the mobility of temperature by connecting to the internet. From the results of testing the accuracy of the DHT11 sensor to reach the lowest temperature of 10 ℃ it took 3 hours with 41% humidity, and there was an error of 1.33 in each experiment because the ambient temperature greatly affected the temperature in the cool box.
