Abstract

ABSTRAK Earthworms are classified as invertebrate animals. The ability and potential of prospective earthworms can be for various purposes, namely the ability to maintain environmental balance as a waste decomposer because the worms can accelerate the process of breaking down organic waste, substituting fishmeal, animal protein sources, medicinal ingredients, cosmetics and food mixtures for human consumption. The process of watering the earthworm livestock media by the cultivators is by watering the livestock media one by one. Often cultivators are too late to water the livestock media, which results in the livestock media being too dry or below the amount of moisture needed. Based on these problems, researcher is interested in creating a monitoring system and control of earthworms based on Internet of Things (IoT). This system is processed using Nodemcu and to display output using applications on smart phones. Control on the watering is done with a movement model such as a printer to move the mechines, so that the soil moisture is balanced. This tool works with four sensors namely the DHT11 sensor as air temperature and humidity, the soil pH sensor as a reader of soil acidity, the soil moisture sensor and the ultrasonic sensor as a mouse repellent. The pump can be controlled manually and if the soil moisture <40 then the water pump will turn on automatically, the light can turn on if the humidity > 50 and the air temperature <23o C.
