Abstract

ABSTRACT The limitation of electricity is one of the most basic energy problems in Indonesia. The availability of power plants is still very lacking, this can be seen from the many areas that have not been electrified. Therefore, it is necessary to create a tool or power plant that can reach remote places that are environmentally friendly and affordable. Turbines and alternators in the manufacture of MHP in this study are pelton turbines with a diameter of 40 cm having 16 blades, blade diameter of 6.5 cm, blade length 7.5 cm and curve of the blade depth of 1.5 cm and the length of the 53 cm crutch with diameter 1.9 cm accompanied by Pully 8 inch. The alternator used is a DC Stepper Motor which has been converted into a mini generator with 12-24 VAC output and 1.5 Ampere current which is accompanied by Pully 3 inch and V-belt. The system will run when giving 220 VAC power supply to the water pump, then the turbine will rotate with 1.4L / minute water discharge. When the turbine rotates, the Alternator also rotates with the Pully and V-belt, and when the Alternator rotates, the Alternator will produce electricity which is then converted into a DC voltage using a Diode Bridge. Because the voltage generated by the Alternator is AC voltage, the DC voltage then goes into the Step Up Module XL6009 DC to DC to increase the voltage, then enters the 12VDC to 220VAC Inverter, and because the voltage from the Bridge Diode is DC then the voltage is changed again to 220 VAC for consumption through the inverter. In testing the system with several circuits and the load of 3 Watt and 5 Watt bolts of light, the results of real Electricity obtained on average at an Alternator of 2.91 Watts. The electrical power on the Alternator that uses a bridge diode is 2.40 Watt and the Electric Power generated from the Inverter is 1.60 Watt. Therefore the electric power from the Alternator is not maximal to be consumed, because the Electric Power generated by the Alternator is still very small with a discharge of 1.4 L / minute.
