Abstract
The existence of school information systems is a necessity that cannot be avoided along with the times. The existence of a school information system is an important thing which is also a means of school promotion. The school information system also acts as a medium of information and communication between schools and students, schools with teachers, and schools with the community. Based on the results of interviews with the Principal of SMK Taman Karya Madya Ngemplak it explained that currently the distribution of information about the SMK Taman Karya Madya Ngemplak was still delivered in printed media such as brochures and posters. In addition, the technical acceptance of new students at SMK Taman Karya Madempla Ngemplak Ngemplak was still unsatisfactory. This made the delivery of information to school residents and especially to the community become less effective and efficient, especially to attract prospective students to register at Ngemplak TKM Vocational School. In addition, the use of print media cost a lot of money, which is an average of Rp.5,000,000., which continued to grow every year. The purpose of this study was to develop a school information system to help schools process information about SMK Taman Karya Madya Ngemplak easily and efficiently with less funding. The research method applied in this study was the development of the waterfall method. From the steps of developing the waterfall system, this study applied the engineering step system, design, coding, and testing. Testing was done by black-box testing technique. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and literature study. The tools used in this study were Visual Studio Code, PHP, and MySQL. Based on the black-box test, the Website-Based School Information System produced at Taman Karya Madempla Ngemplak helped solve the problems that had been raised previously.
