Abstract

The use of computer technology today can be felt in various fields. The use of computers plays an important role as a supporting tool in developing a technology. The use of computers as tools to help human work is designed to follow the human mindset. All forms of human interaction can be replicated with computer technology, one of which is the process of detecting faces. Face detection is one of the topics that is widely studied in the field of Computer Vision. Face detection is the first step in the process of human interaction, image retrieval, image tracking, face recognition and others. Viola Jones algorithm is a standard algorithm for face detection. This algorithm consists of integral image stages, haar like features, adaboost classifier, and cascade classifier. The results of this study in the form of a system that can train the dataset, the results of the training data in the form of a classifier can be stored and used for testing using images that can be imported from a computer directory. Accuracy in the system has an average accuracy of 83.7% and an average testing time of 1 minute 13.2 seconds. Keywords: Face detection, Viola Jones, images, Computer Vision.
