Abstract

The development of science and information technology is now very fast. The human need for information spurs the rapid development of information and communication technology. In line with the times the use of technology is increasing and has a very important role in everyday life. Currently home decoration can be combined with print and computer technology using Augmented Reality (AR) technology. Augmented Reality is an attempt to merge the real world and virtual world through a certain set of programs so that the boundary between the two is very thin. Augmened Reality technology can be used as a simulation of room decoration. The advantage of Augmented Reality is an attractive visual display, because it can display 3D objects and their animations that seem to exist in a real environment and juxtaposed with information about 3D objects or text. It is expected that the home decoration simulation media using Augmented Reality technology can be used as an alternative to decorating the room more easily. In this study, UNITY Game Engine is used to build Android-based applications and Vuforia SDK so that applications that are built can be applications with Augmented Reality technology. The final result is an Augmented Reality Markerless application with a user defined target (UDT) technique. This simulation application can be run on a minimum Android platform version 4.2, it is expected that with this application can simplify the process of home interior decoration.
